Privacy Policy

AhhLife is a small private side project made by Kickass Partners. No institutional investors or large corporations of any kind have anything to do with this project. We take your privacy very seriously, and believe in protecting your information the same way we want ours protected. This Privacy Policy outlines how we treat your information.

Private Entries

AhhLife is strictly a private place for you to read and write about how your days went. Your journal entries are completely private. The only way you can access them is by logging into your account or by searching your own email account for replies to our daily emails that are sent to your email address only.

By design, AhhLife has no way to share your entries publicly and your entries can never be indexed by any search engine. We purposely don't have any integration with Twitter or Facebook or any other social network, just to make sure nothing can be accidentally posted. We have even programmed our server in such a way that it's difficult for us to read your entries.

We should mention that paid accounts have an option to share their entries via email with designated third-parties, but that feature is strictly optional.

Information Collected

We only collect information needed in order for you to use the service, primarily your email address.

Information Shared

We use Mailgun for sending and receiving emails, which means your data passes through their servers. However, they don't store your data in any sort of permanent way, and their server logs are only retained for 2 weeks (for debugging purposes). Besides that, your journal entries are never shared with any third parties. We promise to never sell your data and we also promise to never make changes to this policy in order to allow selling your data in the future. You can personally download your journal entries from the settings page.

Security

The reason that we use a "magic email" login system is that it's more secure than typical password-based systems. As long as access to your email is secure, then nobody except you can access your account. Besides that, you should know that we use industry-standard best practices to secure our server and database against intrusions from hackers.

Account Deletion

If you're unhappy with the service for any reason, you can delete your account in the settings page. This will permanently delete your account and all of your entries from our server.

Privacy Policy Changes

We may make changes to our Privacy Policy at some point. If we do, you should know that the new Privacy Policy will be posted on this page and you will receive an email letting you know about the change.
